In 1973 the Texas Legislature made illegal the sale of dildos and other sex toys. This created a hilarious paradox where sex shops had to refer to dildos as “teaching/educational demonstrator devices”. The “Dildo Diaries” documentary explores the contradictions inherent in the law.
February 12, 2008 a three judge panel from the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas overturned the law deeming it unconstitutional.
